DYER DIFFERENCE COMMUNITY OUTREACH AWARDS

At Dyer Chevrolet Lake Wales we take pride in being a part of the Lake Wales community. That goes far beyond selling cars. We work hard to put our money where our heart is—back into our community through our Dyer Difference Community Outreach program. This goes beyond our support for breast cancer research and disaster relief. The Dyer Difference Community Outreach program singles out local nonprofit groups who are doing the work to make Indian River, St. Lucie, and Polk Counties excellent places to live. Dyer Difference Award Guidelines

Since 2008 Dyer Chevrolet Lake Wales has held monthly meetings with their staff at all three dealerships to learn about good work being done by nonprofit organizations that have applied for recognition. Three organizations are chosen—one for each county served by Dyer Chevrolet Lake Wales—and each group receives a $3,000 award from us. Organizations can apply twice a year and can win once per calender year. It’s our way of supporting kindness and caring right here in our Lakeland-area hometowns.

Recent Dyer Difference Award Recipients

We try to include a wide variety of Bartow organizations when we give the Dyer Difference Awards. We want to help everyone: children, four-legged friends, our senior citizen community members, and more. Here are some of the organizations we’ve recognized in Lake Wales:

• Highlander Booster Club celebrates Lake Wales High School athletics
• Lake Wales Heritage works to complete the original plans for Lake Wales
• Early Learning Coalition of Polk County provides programs to help over 14,000 children a year prepare to start school
• Polk Sheriff Charities assists the families of law enforcement officers who’ve been injured or killed in the line of duty, while also providing sports uniforms and toys to economically disadvantaged kids, and assisting domestic violence organizations.
